The Founder of Afaaq Geoconsulting
The founder of Afaaq GeoConsulting is professor of Volcanology at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With a wealth of experience, he previously served as the dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences at KAU. His extensive research in volcanology has resulted in numerous published papers, covering diverse topics such as petrology, volcanic hazards, geoheritage, geoparks, and geotourism in Saudi Arabia. Notably, he co-authored a book, focusing on the geoheritage of Saudi Volcanoes. Additionally, he collaborated on a paper to establishing the first volcanic Geopark in the Harrat Al Madinah volcanic field.
The founder of Afaaq GeoConsulting actively participates in international conferences dedicated to volcanoes and geoparks, continuously expanding his knowledge and networks in these fields. Professor Moufti is a Co-leader of the IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic Geoheritage and Protected Volcanic Landscapes.
